Cabaret audience experience 5/2
Posted by: ileen 05:51 pm EDT 05/03/24

Current Reddit thread describes what seems like an ongoing issue at the Kit Kat Club & over serving. Not having house staff trained for these situations yet seems lazy at best.

I don't blame her. They call it the Kit Kat Klub. They give the audience shots. They invite the audience to pretend they are in an actual club. The opening number invites you, directly, to leave your troubles OUTSIDE. They should expect people to act like her! In the original show, the audience at the Kit Kat Klub was onstage played by actors. But by telling the audience they are the actual audience at the Kit Kat Klub, this is what you get. I don't blame Shia LB either.

An odd thing to mention, since this is from ten years ago, but okay…

I can’t imagine it’s many real theater fans sitting at those tables. It’s rich a-holes who don’t know a play from a musical and just want the Instagram clout. Nothing less, nothing more. I’m so glad I decided to skip this s-show. The producers however must be cleaning up.

And you know this how?
Horrible post in every way.

It's not a LOL manner.
Where do you get off calling people with money A holes?
Shallow, narrow minded thinking.

I mean let’s be honest, 90% of the folks in those seats are probably awful people, yes? Maybe not everybody, but 90%. Are you saying you’re one of them? I’m so confused.

Less than two days ago, you told me it disappointed you that folks here do not want to engage in meaningful discussion (or something to that effect). I made a suggestion to you, which you chose to ignore. NP. Today as I caught up on reading the current threads, I see lots of posts by you, none of which suggest you meant what you said.

PS The only one who thinks you hit a nerve is the one you look at in the mirror. :-)

Word salad as always, ryhog. We would all benefit from you getting to the point on a more regular basis.

I think everyone but you finds my words understandable.

But I can be more blunt: stop with the troll shtick.

As I am pretty sure I said before, it impresses no one. Impress me by making a worthwhile contribution to the board instead. Or don't.

How do you come up with this?
Awful People???

Do you know them?
I doubt it.
Why so judgmental?

Clearly said they splurged to see the show—so yes, they do have some money to splurge but i doubt they see super rich where a $1000 means nothing.

Supposedly, weekly cost is $1.16m

It made $1.7m last week. Substract 10% fees and weekly cost—that leaves $370k and about 60% goes to investors unless redmayne is getting some of that. So that’s $222k paying off $26m investment. That’s 2 years—but redmsyne leaves in sept. They need the drink sales.

I thought drink sales went to the theater, not the producers? Or is this a special case since they're selling drink packages?

“The bar operators are usually private companies that have established a partnership with the theater owners and pass back 50% of profits back to the theatre.”
