| Its my fault for starting to go to Bradway shows in 1959. GREAT GATSBY is one of the 20 worst shows I have ever seen. I've seen over 1500 on Broadway, many more in London and Paris and Vienna and Moscow and Los Angeles and San Francisco and Washington DC and Boston ...Music, Lyrics, choreography, costumes, sets, acting, book all dreadful. It was a HUGE production, indeed - but nothing seemed to have anything much to do with the world that Fitzgerald was writing about. arsih and lous and music that did nothing to invoke the world of the story. The only true moment came when they sang a song called 'Save Me'. Please. Not that I had an opinion. |
