Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Mmac72. But I would not get your hopes up just yet about what the new season will bring. I saw the pre-Broadway tryout of "Death Becomes Her" in Chicago last week. The show is threatening to come to Broadway next fall. If it does, it will make W4E, a forgettable piece of dull garbage, look like a masterpiece in comparison. "Death" is nothing more than 2 1/2 hours of hideously realized camp. -- no book, a smidgen of music and two actresses trying desperately to elevate the show beyond the musical travesty it clearly is. I'm afraid we are in a terrible way when it comes to developing new musicals. The industry seems to have lost its way post pandemic and is trying to pawn off ill-conceived monstrosities as great theater. There's nothing there, but as long as gullible audiences will pay money to see this stuff greedy producers will continue to put it on Broadway. It may be that the talents needed to create great musicals aren't out there any more. I certainly hope that's not the case., but . . . . . .
