Thank you for posting John McWhorter's NYT advocacy for RAISIN. I salute him. And agree. I was a young kid when I saw the original, a white suburban High School student sitting with my mother in the last row of the orchestra of the 46th Street Theater, it was her curiosity that led us to the matinee, and I loved it! Not a dull experience at all. A great musical. Best Musical winner. Eventually I got the album, the poster, and the sheet music. There are so many talented people in theater today, so many... I would love for one of you visionaries to revisit/visit it. Please don't reduce the orchestra size. The music, albeit written by white guys, has power that married well with Hansberry's tale. And the orchestra had power supporting it all.
