I couldn't agree more with your points, GrumpyMorningBoy. There were more posts about ''Schmigadoon!'' on BroadwayWorld, but not too many here.

And as much as I enjoyed Season 1, the humor seemed broader, as if to reach more people. And Season 2 was almost like, ''Screw it. We're gonna get really inside musical theater,'' and Cinco Paul's parodies were so much sharper, especially if you know the originals. Like Aaron Tveit crooning '' ''My Doorway to Where,'' an inspired takeoff of Stephen Schwartz's wonderful ''Corner of the Sky'' from ''Pippin'' (with its delightfully loopy metaphors).

And everyone met the material with pitch-perfect panache (and Chris Gattelii's brilliant choreography): How did Jane Krakowski NOT win a Tony for her Fosse-esque flair in ''Bells and Whistles,'' as she swung from a trapeze and later rattled off ''Getting Married Today''-like patter from ''Company''?

But my favorite number might've been ''Good Enough to Eat,'' Paul's priceless version of ''A Little Priest'' from ''Sweeney Todd.'' Only in ''Schmigadoon!'' Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming were fantasizing about turning kids into, er, kid-ney pies. The rhymes were such a riot, worthy of Sondheim.

Even though I'm thrilled that Paul won an Emmy for ''Corn Puddin''' from Season 1, it's shocking that NONE of his Season 2 songs were even nominated!
