| We saw its world premiere earlier this season at Studio Theatre, in DC. Very funny. Very entertaining. About a "bougie" (plot element) black couple returning to live in and renovate the husband's childhood home in longstanding black neighborhood. Highly recommended. (There was a minimal supernatural subplot that didn't work, and seemed semi-abandoned, as if it were a remnant of an earlier draft. It wouldn't surprise me if it's been written out by the time of the NY production.) Much more traditional than Fat Ham. |
